Access into Motor Social...
Member access is provided through a secure keypad located at the front entrance. Once your membership is set up, we’ll be notified automatically and begin the onboarding process. This includes:
-
Creating your personal access code using the last four digits of your Social Security number
-
For Tinker & Mingle members, providing lift training materials and a required safety test
For safety reasons, Tinker & Mingle members must complete the lift training and pass the test with a score of 100% before using any shop bays.
Mingle Only members will also receive a personal access code but will not have access to the shop bays, so no training or testing is required.
Guests with a day pass do not receive an access code and must enter the facility with an active member.

How do I become a member?
Getting started is simple. At the top of our website, click “Become a Member.” From there, you’ll have two options to choose from: Tinker & Mingle or Mingle Only. Review the descriptions to decide which membership best fits your needs.
Next, select the length of your membership. The longer the commitment, the more you save each month. Once you’ve made your selection, you’ll be directed to the payment page.
Before completing your payment, click the “Sign Up” option in the upper right corner to create an account with Acuity Scheduling. Doing so will give you access to our scheduling system. After signing up, return to the payment page and enter your billing information.
Please note: regardless of the membership length you choose, you will only be charged one month at a time. For example, if you select a six-month membership, your card will be billed monthly at the discounted rate for six months—not the full amount upfront.
Once your membership is completed, we will receive a notification and follow up via email. At that time, we’ll request the last four digits of your Social Security number to create your personalized door access code and, if desired, program a key fob. You may use either the code or key fob for entry.
For security purposes, your access code is for your use only. Guests are welcome to purchase a day pass but must be accompanied by a member at all times. Please also note that if a payment is declined, your access code will be temporarily deactivated until the issue is resolved.

Note: The bays with floor drains are NOT wash bays. Three bays do have drains, but washing a car could be a challenge with bays being close to each other. It's recommended that you wash your auto elsewhere and do the detail work at Motor Social.
Do I need to bring my own tools?
We provide the basic tools for you. But you are still welcome to bring your own. Tool access is included in your membership. Be sure to check our tool list to make sure we have what your project needs. Our tool box has 1/4 and 3/8 drive sockets both SAE and Metric. Pliers of all sorts along with screwdrivers. Oil change tools such as a filter wrench, drain pan, etc. Impact gun with sockets for tire work, plus 3/8 and 1/2" torque wrench. Both SAE and Metric end wrenches. Disposable gloves and rags available.
Specialty tools will be available as we see the need, they would be shared between bays.
(Break a tool...tell us...tools have a specific use. A screwdriver is not a hammer, use it for intended purpose and it's covered. Use tools for unintended purpose and you will have to replace it)
Is training required to use the lifts?
If you want to use a lift, regardless of how much experience you have, passing the "Lift it Right" course that was developed by the Automotive Lift Institute is required. This is an online course filled with all sorts of information that we at Motor Social think you will find extremely helpful in lifting your auto safely. Even if you only want to lift a motorcycle, it's still great information. Our #1 priority at Motor Social is SAFETY. Log into this site: Automobile Lifting Institute, it will cost you $20 to take the course, which is a VERY small investment into your life and that of others. Pass the test and you'll receive a certificate, get us a copy in person or email it to info@motorsocial.shop with our name on the email and we will get you access to the lifts.
How do I book a bay and how long can I book it?
You can book a bay if your a member or non-member. Members have priority. The main reason we have you sign up for an account either before or after you purchase your membership, is this gives you access to the calendar and it gives you 100% discount to the reservation. It's pretty straight forward, log in after you join, select "book a bay", and sign up. There are options to book your bay, 1 hour up to 10 hours. Here's the thing, don't book it longer than you need it so others can book it. Second, nothing over 24 hours, if you can't get it done in 24 yours or you have to get parts and they won't arrive, it may need to be removed so others can have access. These bays are NOT for long term projects, again, if you can't get it done in 24 hours, move it. We do have yard space to park it, see the information in the below section.
Non-members can still book a bay by the hour. You can only book Monday thru Thursday, the bay has to be booked in advance as you will have to have an access code plus pass the lift test and agree to all terms prior to getting access. If you don't agree to the terms or pass the lift test, you will not get to use it. If you book the bay and cancel without a 24 hours notice, you will lose your $20 deposit.
I can't finish my project and need to move my auto...
You've used all your time and it's booked after, or you're waiting on parts, what do I do? You have to move your auto out of the way so others can work, but we have a yard in back or there's space along the railroad tracks. The YARD is fenced in, but this is also NOT for long term storage, a weekish tops, after that we gotta come up with a plan. We're just not long term storage for your forever projects....sorry.
I do mechanic work on the side for pay, can I...
So you do mechanic work on the side for pay and you could often use a space indoors, need a lift, etc. Can I become a member to do this kind of work? Well, yes and really no...reserving a bay is first and foremost for members. They have booking priority, but...even if you become a member, these spaces are not "for hire" work unless you want to book a bay as a non-member and pay a fee for the time. Non-member booking is only available Monday thru Thursday...when there are openings. Again, any work you do on vehicles that are not yours personally, and you're getting paid to work on them...this is considered "for hire" and you will have to book a bay as a non-member and pay a fee.
Can I detail my auto at Motor Social?
Yes, you can detail your car here. No, we'd prefer you wash your car elsewhere as we don't have a wash bay. Three of our four bays have a floor drain, but the intention of the floor drains is more as a catch than actually washing your vehicle. The bike bay is probably set up the best for washing, but the idea of spraying water is again, not the best. The intention would be to wash your car at a car wash, then bring it to Motor Social for detail work. Each bay will have a wet/dry vacuum. (No buffing, waxing, detail supplies will be provided)
